Several media houses (Not Times of India) in India carried news reports that claimed that India is set to witness a huge spike in coronavirus cases, with as many as 40 crore Indians contracting the virus eventually.
These media portals attributed their claims to a Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP)-John Hopkins university report.

Here are screen grabs of some of the reports by these media houses.

TRUTH
John Hopkins University distanced itself from the report. Taking to its official Twitter account, the university said that it had not authorized the use of its logo in the joint CDDEP-John Hopkins report quoted by media houses above.

The use of our logo was not authorized in this case and JHU is engaging with CDDEP on it. Thank you.
Following this clarification, one of the media houses deleted the story ,pinning the blame on a certain news agency for it.
Here’s the screen grab.

Other media houses in question are yet to pull down their stories or alter them. Further, there has been no clarification from them either till the time of writing this fact check report.
