PM Modi to deliver valedictory address at National Youth Festival next week
The objective of the National Youth Festival is to bring youth of the country together
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a valedictory address at the National Youth Parliament Festival on January 12, celebrated throughout the country as National Youth Day to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The top three winners of the festival will get an opportunity to speak before the Prime Minister in the valedictory function on 12th January, a release from the Prime Minister’s Office maintained.
These three will be adjudged by an eminent national jury amongst 29 national winners in a program held at the Central Hall of the Parliament on January 11. Lok Speaker Om Birla, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Narayan Singh and Minister Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju would attend the programme.
The National Youth Parliament Festival aims to provide a platform to youth between ages 18 and 25, who will join various careers in coming years, including public services. It was developed from an idea of Prime Minister Modi’s Mann Ki Baat Address on December 31, 2017 and subsequently, the first youth festival was organised in 2019.
The 2019 festival held between January 10 to February 27, had the theme- ‘Be the Voice of New India and Find solutions and Contribute to Policy’ saw an overwhelming response as a total of 88,000 youth participated together at district, state, and national levels. The Prime Minister on February 27 will award the top 3 winners of the first National Youth Parliament Festival.
The second National Youth Parliament Festival is being held alongside the 24th National Youth Festival from January 10-16. The objective of the National Youth Festival is to bring youth of the country together.
It also aims at promoting national integration, spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage and adventure. The basic aim of the festival is to propagate the spirit, essence, and concept of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
