PM Modi gives clarion call ‘Unite2FightCorona,’ ministers, politicians, celebs join in
From politicians to ministers to celebrities, the mantra resonated in the words of all of those who joined the mission.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new mantra, ‘Unite2FightCorona’ to fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In what is being called a ‘clarion call,’ PM Modi on Thursday asked the citizens to unite in their fight against Coronavirus pandemic.
PM Modi, on his Twitter handle, wrote, “Let us #Unite2FightCorona! Let us always: Wear a mask. Wash hands. Follow social distancing. Practice ‘Do Gaj ki Doori.’ Together, we will succeed. Together, we will win against COVID-19.”

President Ram Nath Kovind also advised people to follow the safety norms by tweeting it using the ‘#Unite2FightCorona.’ He wrote, “The nation stands united to defeat COVID-19 through collective determination and discipline. I urge fellow citizens to #Unite2FightCorona! Let us all- Wear a mask, Wash hands, Practice social distancing. Together we will fight, we will win!”
Calling it a big call for Jan Andolan against COVID-19, the health minister of the country, Dr Harsh Vardhan wrote on Twitter, “Heartfelt gratitude to @narendramodi ji for a Jan Andolan against #COVID19India. Bharat is proud & privileged to have a prudent leader like you. The country will stand together to answer your call in making #United2FightCorona movement a runaway success!”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to Twitter and wrote, “A global pandemic like Corona can be fought only when all people come together. Let’s all together join this mass movement being run by @narendramodi against Corona and play an important role in making Corona free India by making everyone aware of this epidemic. #Unite2fightCorona.”
Defence Minister Rajanth Singh also urged people to take care of personal hygiene. Several other ministers including Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, and Prakash Javadekar joined in.
The mission was soon joined by various celebrities. While actor-producer Kangana Ranaut thanked PM Modi for starting such an initiative, actor Kriti Sanon said that India needs to fight it together.

Music Director Shankar Mahadevan also posted a video in support of PM Modi’s initiative and said “The three mantras! A sincere request.”
Many other celebrities also showed unity with the initiative by posting and retweeting PM Modi’s tweet and urging people to know the importance of following safety norms.

It comes at a time when the cases of COVID-19 in India have crossed the 68 lakh mark. India, in the past 24 hours reported 78,524 new cases and 971 new deaths taking the total number of positive cases in the country to 68,35,655 cases out of which 58,27,704 patients have already recovered. Around 1,05,526 people have lost their lives.
