India’s total COVID-19 recoveries cross 95-lakh mark
The daily average of recoveries continues to outnumber the new cases of COVID-19 in the country for the past 21 days
The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in India has crossed the 95-lakh mark in the past 24 hours as recoveries continued to surpass the new cases of COVID-19. The recoveries are now 30 times more than the active cases in the country.
The total number of recoveries in India stands at 95,20,827, the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has suggested.
“India has registered a landmark achievement in the fight against the global pandemic today. The ongoing trend of exponential increment in India’s total recoveries continues,” the ministry said in a statement.
With this, the gap between the active cases and the recovered cases has also increased significantly. Presently, this gap stands at 92,06,996.
“The Recovery Rate has also increased to 95.40%. India is one of the top countries with the highest recovery rate globally,” the ministry said.
Also, the recovered cases in India happens to be more than 30 times the number of active cases in the country which stand at 3,13,831 which consists of only 3.14 per cent of the total positive cases in the country.
Amid this, the daily average of recoveries continues to outnumber the new cases of COVID-19 in the country for the past 21 days.
“New daily recoveries outnumbering new cases have ensured a consistent decline in the active cases along with increase in the total recoveries,” the ministry said.
In the last 24 hours, India reported a total of 31,087 cases against 22,890 cases in the same period of time.
Of the new recoveries, the maximum was found from Kerala with 4970 recoveries in the past 24 hours followed by 4,358 of Maharashtra and 2,747 of West Bengal. National Capital Delhi also reported a total of 2,391 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh also reported close to 2,000 recoveries each followed by 1,497 of Karnataka. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana reported close to 1,500 recoveries.
India also reported a total of 22,890 cases and 338 deaths in the past 24 hours. The maximum was reported from Kerala with 4,969 cases and 27 deaths followed by 2,245 cases and 44 deaths of West Bengal and 1,584 cases and 11 deaths of Chhattisgarh.
So far, India has reported a total of 99,79,447 cases including 1,44,789 deaths due to COVID-19.
