The ship will deliver 15 tons of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR)-related material for the flood-affected people of Cambodia, which will be handed over to Cambodia’s National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC), according to the Ministry of Defence.

Mission Sagar-III is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region) and reiterates India’s position as a dependable partner, and the Indian Navy as the preferred security partner and the first responder.
The Mission also highlights the importance accorded to ASEAN countries.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, India has been providing assistance to friendly foreign countries to overcome natural calamities and the aftermath of the pandemic.
In November, as part of Mission Sagar II, Indian Naval Ship Airavat had delivered food aid to Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti, and Eritrea. Mission Sagar-II followed the first ‘Mission Sagar’ undertaken in May-June 2020, wherein India reached out to Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros, and provided food aid and medicines.
It highlights the importance accorded by India to relations with its maritime neighbors and further strengthens the existing bond. The Indian Navy is implementing this mission in close coordination with the ministries of defence and external Affairs and other agencies of the government of India.
